MSWLogo

MSWLogo (or Logo for short) is a simple programming language that you may have come across in school computing classes. I taught myself enough of it to create some interesting things.

To try these programs out, you need to download and install Logo from http://www.softronix.com/logo.html. Then run the program, MSWLogo. My programs come as .LGO files - to run them, click the File menu, then click Load... and select the .LGO file you want to run.

Not all my programs are prepared for "public" release so you may not be provided instructions, and you may encounter bugs. In general:

If the download does not start immediately, right-click the link and choose "Save link as..." (or equivalent) to download.
Share Simulator Share Simulator (2003, download size 14.9 kB) simulates the Stock Exchange. Buy and sell shares in four areas of business to see how much money you can make.

Lottery Simulator Lottery Simulator (2004, download size 3.9 kB) simulates playing the National Lottery. You can choose 6 numbers and calculate your winnings after thousands of simulated lottery runs.

Memory Game Memory Game (2004, download size 2.4 kB) simulates playing Simon, a memory game in which you try to remember and copy increasingly long sequences of four colours/tones.

Star Star (2005, download size 1.8 kB) lets you draw simple star-like shapes. Choose an angle and length and watch the turtle draw something interesting for you.

Dice Wars Analyser Dice Wars Analyser (2005, download size 0.7 kB) calculates the outcome of a move in the game Dice Wars. It's an example of my use of Logo to solve mathematical problems. Not terribly interesting unless you've played the game.

Keyboard Keyboard (2007, download size 0.9 kB) uses your computer keyboard as a piano. Instructions under procedure "aaa".
Dragon Curve 2 Dragon Curve 2 (2007, download size 0.9 kB) draws the Dragon Curve at low orders (1-20 is just about achievable).

SteepleChase SteepleChase (2007, download size 1.3 kB) is a stopwatch or timer that was originally designed to help with practising the Cambridge Anatomy practical exam (called the Steeplechase), but can be used to time any multi-station sequence, such as OSCEs.

Stroop Tester Stroop Tester (2009, download size 7.2 kB) allows you to carry out the Stroop Test, a psychological test of reaction times.

Sudoku Solver Sudoku Solver (2009, download size 14.2 kB) automates the process of solving Sudoku. It applies the basic rules of Sudoku to a grid, step-by-step, and can solve most Sudoku this way.
